Enrollment for public schools officially begins nationwide today, June 9, 2025, coinciding with the launch of Brigada Eskwela, a community-driven initiative to prepare schools for the upcoming academic year.

The Department of Education (DepEd) is urging parents and guardians to prepare enrollment requirements in advance and register early to avoid delays.

DepEd encourages early registration for incoming kindergarten students, first-time basic education learners, transferees to public schools, and students entering Grades 1, 7, and 11, as well as potential Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners. Other grade levels are automatically “pre-registered.”

DepEd earlier announced that the school year opening has been reverted to June 16.
