Power and water restoration across Cebu now progressing

Power and water restoration efforts across Metro Cebu are steadily progressing, now reaching over 60 percent, as utility companies continue to recover from the extensive damage caused by Typhoon Tino.

As of 12 p.m. yesterday, November 8, 2025, Visayan Electric (VECO) has restored power to 350,826 customers, reflecting 68 percent of its total customer base.

According to the utility’s update, restoration levels per area now stand as follows: San Fernando at 99 percent; Naga City at 96.1 percent; Minglanilla at 94.20 percent; Talisay City at 75.66 percent; Cebu City at 73.01 percent; Mandaue City at 59.79 percent; Consolacion at 73.08 percent; and Liloan at 36.19 percent.

“Our crews continue to work around the clock to safely restore electricity to all affected areas,” VECO said in a statement.

“Despite the scorching heat, our crews are on the ground, working tirelessly to bring back your electricity as soon as possible,” they added.

The company said that despite muddy roads, scattered debris, and tangled power lines making restoration work risky and difficult, linemen remain committed to fully restoring power to all affected communities.
