PhilHealth expands GAMOT program

PhilHealth has announced the nationwide launch of its enhanced Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (PhilHealth GAMOT) program, a drug benefit package offering members access to essential medicines valued at up to P20,000 annually per beneficiary.

The initiative is part of the broader PhilHealth YAKAP Program, which President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. showcased in his recent State of the Nation Address as a key move toward a healthier Philippines.

Under PhilHealth GAMOT, members can access 75 types of medicines commonly prescribed for conditions such as infections, asthma, COPD, diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, heart disease, nervous system disorders, and other supporting therapies.

To avail of the benefit, members must enroll in their preferred PhilHealth YAKAP Clinic. After a medical assessment, their primary care physician may issue a prescription bearing a Unique Prescription Security Code (UPSC).
