P17M drugs seized from “newbie” distributor

Around 2.5 kilograms of suspected shabu worth an estimated P17 million was seized from an alleged female drug distributor during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City, last Friday evening.

The suspect was identified as 37-year-old Mary Jane Libre Iñigo, a resident of Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City.
The said operation was jointly conducted by personnel from the Mandaue City Police Office, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-7, Special Operations Unit-7, Police Drug Enforcement Group, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7.
Upon investigation, Iñigo was caught with two large packages containing one kilogram of shabu each and another five medium sachets with 100 grams of shabu each.
Apart from the confiscated drugs, which were placed inside a backpack, marked money and a smart phone were also recovered from the suspect.
