Despite operating on a reduced budget, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) under Vice President Sara Z. Duterte reported delivering widespread assistance across the country in 2024, with a notable impact in Central Visayas.
Ahead of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s State of the Nation Address (SONA) set today, the OVP shared its accomplishments report for last year.
As per its reports, the region, particularly Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor, benefited significantly through the satellite office based in Cebu City, which disbursed over P63 million in medical and burial assistance to 13,286 individuals.
The OVP's efforts extended beyond crisis interventions.
Through its Relief for Individuals in Crisis and Emergencies (RICE) Program, the office distributed 12,079 food boxes loaded with rice, canned goods, and other nutritional essentials to communities grappling with economic challenges and disasters.
