October 4: Jubilee for the environment - Mass/walk for creation

Today, October 4, is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of the Ecology.

In his Encyclical Letter on Care for our Common Home, Pope Francis referred to this beautiful canticle of St. Francis of Assisi - “LAUDATO SI’, mi’ Signore” — “Praise be to you, my Lord, a reminder that our common home is like a sister with whom we share our life and a beautiful mother who opens her arms to embrace us.”

October 4 also concludes Creationtide or Season of Creation which started September 1 “to herald God as Creator of the universe by God and commemorate the mystery of creation in Christ.”

To celebrate this year’s Season of Creation and the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, in collaboration with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cebu, the Cebu Archdiocesan Commission on Environment, the Cebu Archdiocesan Social Advocacies and civil society organizations, St. Theresa’s College of Cebu invites all to their October 4 initiative-Jubilee for Environment 2025 A Walk for Creation.
