The Cebu City Government announced that repair work on the Jaclupan raw water transmission line has been completed following weeks of disruption and repeated repair efforts after Typhoon Tino battered the pipeline last month.

The Metro Cebu Water District (MCWD) said that wells in the Jaclupan wellfields are now operational. In addition, system flushing is underway to clear the pipelines of debris and foreign materials, ensuring water quality before distribution.

Moving forward, the water line is expected to begin refilling the Lagtang Reservoir in Talisay City this evening, followed shortly by the Tisa Reservoir in Cebu City.

Once these reservoirs reach the proper levels, supply will gradually flow back into households. The Jaclupan line was first reported as damaged in early November when Typhoon Tino struck Cebu.
