Mayor denies hand in libel raps vs Alcover

Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival has denied any involvement in the cyberlibel cases filed against Councilor Pastor “Jun” Alcover Jr. He clarified that the controversy did not originate from City Hall or the City Council.

Archival strongly asserted that the issue is not a vendetta from his office. He emphasized that this situation stems from a personal grievance, rather than any institutional retaliation.
The mayor added that any backlash from someone is simply the “opposite reaction” to his (Alcover) actions, not a retaliation from his office.
