First, the fisherfolks joined the ala-mini Sinulog fluvial parade to greet you at sea, before you docked at the Port to start your mission here in Cebu.

Like Peter, you have been assigned to be God's “fishers of men.”

Then, the enthusiastic crowds warmly welcomed you and lined up from the port to your new residence compound - the Archbishop’s Palace.

The next days, before your installation, you tirelessly proceeded with your pastoral, liturgical, civic engagements.

After celebrating mass, as a practicing environmentalist, you “planted molave, narra saplings inside your residence compound, a sign of your deep love for the environment, living out Pope Francis’ Laudato Si on caring for our common home.”

Then, you visited, ate with, and listened to the “Abtanan sa Kaluoy” center residents in Mabolo, your mission for being sent to Cebu — “first and foremost to care for the little ones the street children, the abandoned and the forgotten.”
