France ambassador reaffirms ties with Cebu City

A “stronger” tie and cooperation with Cebu City is what France’s Ambassador to the Philippines, Marie Fontanel, has reopened with Mayor Nestor Archival, with discussions centered on infrastructure, disaster resilience, and cultural exchange.
Ambassador Fontanel, accompanied by Mathilde Sejourne, Head of Cooperation and Cultural Affairs, and businessman Michael Lhuillier, conveyed that French companies are keen to explore investments in Cebu, particularly in water, power, and other essential services.
Fontanel, during her visit to Cebu City Hall, asked Mayor Archival to outline the city’s most pressing needs so that support could be directed where it would matter most. Mayor Archival responded by presenting “Cebu 2035,” the city’s long-term roadmap to build a smarter, more resilient, and more inclusive metropolis.
