About a. Month ago, I did the craziest stunt in my life. No, it wasn’t dangerous nor scary. I just rode around Manhattan on my road bike.

- Jose Vicente 'JV' Araneta

My wife, Tata, got a good plane ticket deal six months earlier for the four of us and so we were headed to the US for a three week look around. Since the plan was to stay in Manhattan for a week then the rest of the stay was in Chicago. Of course, we had a few detours along the way.

The first day after we arrived, I went to Central Park. But I wasn’t wearing my cycling kit, I was in my pants, shirt and rubber shoes. I just wanted to “feel” the area before riding there the next day. I also wanted to see the lay of the park on a bike because I wanted to join a crit the next day.
