Dengue cases in Lapu-Lapu up by 35%

A 35 percent increase in dengue fever cases has been recorded in Lapu-Lapu City from January to July this year, according to the City Health Office.

Dr. Vincent Jess Eduardo Montejo, Medical Officer III, confirmed that 448 dengue cases were reported in the first half of 2025, compared to 331 cases during the same period last year.
However, Montejo, who specializes in communicable diseases, said the rise is not a cause for alarm, noting that dengue cases typically spike every three years.
