"Davao Oriental and other areas are facing great loss after the 7.4-magnitude earthquake shook their homes and hearts. Daghang nawad-an, daghang nanginahanglan ug tabang, but hope will always live through our compassion," he added.

Cebu Governor Pamela “Pam” Baricuatro also confirmed via social media that the Province of Cebu will donate a substantial amount to support Davao Oriental's recovery. As of press time, the exact figure has not yet been disclosed.
"The Province of Cebu will donate a substantial amount to Davao," Baricuatro posted shortly after the Mindanao quake.
This gesture of solidarity comes just days after Cebu itself was placed under a state of calamity due to widespread damage from its own seismic event.
The September 30 quake in northern Cebu left 72 people dead and 559 injured, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). Over 600,000 individuals across Central Visayas were affected, many homeless.
