Capitol awaits DENR decision on The Stria

Insisting that her administration remains determined to stop The Stria resort project in Bantayan Island, Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro said the provincial government is now awaiting the final decision from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Baricuatro said the provincial government has already submitted the necessary reports and documents to the DENR central office, including findings from investigations conducted in coordination with regional environmental authorities.
The governor said the documents were forwarded to the office of DENR Secretary Sharon Garin and that the provincial government is currently awaiting the agency's response.
"We are aware of that and we have already submitted the report and the pertinent documents to the DENR Secretary. Naghuwat nalang mi og response from them," Baricuatro told reporters during a press briefing on Wednesday.
The submissions include investigation reports on the ongoing construction as well as the provincial government’s official resolution concerning the project.
