Apas chief blames predecessor over unused brgy MRF facility

Apas Barangay Captain Jingjing Cabigon has rejected claims that the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Sitio Grotto was abandoned, saying the facility could not be operated because it was never properly turned over to the new administration after the 2018 elections.

Cabigon cited a Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) letter dated August 12, 2022, which stated that the EMB-funded MRF “was not properly turned-over to the new administration after the 2018 election. This hindered the current administration from fully operating the establishment.”

“Tin-aw kaayo ang mensahe nga wala’y hustong turnover sa mga dokumento ug datos gikan ni sa niaging administrasyon ni Mr. Ramil Ayuman ngadto sa bag-ong administrasyon human sa 2018 election. Tungod niini, napugngan ang pagpadayon sa hingpit nga operasyon sa maong MRF,” Cabigon said in a social media post, stressing that the absence of records prevented the facility from being immediately reopened.
