3 fires break out in Lapu-Lapu

Three separate fire incidents broke out in different barangays in Lapu-Lapu City yesterday, leaving multiple structures damaged but resulting in no reported injuries or fatalities, according to the Lapu-Lapu City Fire District.

The first incident occurred at 5:19 A.M. in Sitio Marbeach, Barangay Marigondon. Firefighters from the Marigondon Fire Station responded within minutes and arrived at the scene by 5:22 A.M.

The blaze involved a residential property owned by Aireen Dales, which was reported totally burned. The fire was placed under first alarm and was declared under control at 5:30 A.M., before being fully put out at 5:35 A.M.

Fire Officer 1 Vincent Rhey Reyes said the blaze was believed to have been sparked by a lamp left burning inside the house.

“Kay nilakaw ang tag-iya, ang lamparilya sa sud wala gipawong,” Reyes said. He added that this was already the second time a similar incident happened involving the same lamp being left unattended.
