Trump Outs Meeting With 'Fantastic' Modi
The Free Press Journal
|September 19, 2024
In a bid to woo the large Indian diaspora, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump Tuesday revealed he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week during his visit to the United States.
-
The former president made the surprise announcement at a Town Hall event in Michigan, while he was speaking about US trade with India. However, he gave no details on where they would meet, according to Reuters. It is not sure if Trump made this rather hazy announcement at the spur of the moment.
The Republican presidential candidate also slammed India as an "abuser" on the issue of import tariffs, although he described Modi as a "fantastic man".
