STATEHOOD PROMISE| Union Home Minister promises restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir at ‘an appropriate time'
-
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday asserted that since the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir had witnessed a "complete transformation," with no local terrorist recruitment reported in the last nine months.
"After the abrogation of Article 370, terror-affected Jammu and Kashmir has taken a U-turn and no local terrorist has been recruited in the last nine months," he remarked while speaking at a media conclave organised by ABP and Hindustan.
Shah said that the 'Hurriyat' ideology was gaining strength when there was Article 370 in Kashmir and so the government abrogated it. He said that the government addressed the issues faced by the youth subsequently. Panchayat elections were held in a peaceful atmosphere.
