Surat, Udhna railway stations gear up for Diwali rush
The Free Press Journal - Mumbai
|October 07, 2025
With Diwali just around the corner, the Indian Railways has launched an extensive plan to manage the massive surge of passengers expected to travel from Surat and Udhna railway stations.
Every year, thousands of migrant workers and families head back to their hometowns for the festival, turning these two key junctions into some of the busiest in western India.
To ensure a safe and comfortable travel experience, the railway administration has begun round-the-clock preparations. “Passenger convenience and safety are our top priorities during the festive rush,” said a senior Western Railway official.
