Student bodies seek compensation for deceased agitators’s families, free treatment for injured

In a joint memorandum, 4 leading students organisations of Ladakh, have written to home ministry, seeking an independent probe in September 24 violence and release of the arrested protesters and social activist Sonam Wangchuk.

Coming under the banner of All Ladakh Students Associations Across India, the students associations have noted in a memorandum to MHA the violence had “resulted in the loss of four innocent lives and left many others injured” and caused “immense sorrow and anxiety among the people of Ladakh, particularly the students and youth studying in different parts of the country.”

Stating they “firmly believe in the values of peace, democracy, and justice our nation upholds,” the students made five demands to the Centre.
