A judge of the Madras High Court has held that the Bhagavad Gita should be understood as a work of moral philosophy rather than a religious text, while directing the Union government to revisit a regulatory decision affecting a charitable trust in Coimbatore.Justice G R Swa-
minathan made the observation while disposing of a petition filed by a Coimbatore-based trust whose application for empanelment under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 had been declined.
