IT industry pledges to stay, want infra revamp

The IT industry in Bengaluru has clarified that its companies do not intend to leave the city, but has called on the Karnataka government to provide essential infrastructure and improve civic management.

The statement comes after the CEO of logistics firm ‘Blackbuck’ in a recent tweet, threatened to move its office due to traffic and poor roads.

Speaking to reporters Krishna Kumar Gowda, General Secretary of the Greater Bengaluru IT Companies and Industries Association, said that if tech companies had any intention of leaving, they would not have set up operations in the city in the first place. He highlighted Bengaluru's status as the ‘Tech Capital of India,’ which has attracted global attention.
