COUGH SYRUP CONTINUES TO CLAIM LIVES, TOLL 20

CS, DGP to coordinate with neighbouring states to curb Corex syrup sale: CM

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said on Wednesday that the death toll due to adulterated cough syrup shot up to 20.

The children died in Chhindwara, Pandhurna, and Betul. Five children are still undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Nagpur.

Shukla said the government was providing the best treatment to the ailing children.

In the past week, the death toll has gone up to 20. Although the tragedy has come to the notice of the government, there is no letup in deaths.

According to sources, among the five children admitted to hospitals in Nagpur, the condition of two is serious.

Death continues to prey upon children, but the government has failed to do anything to stop it.
