Copy-paste docus: Woman freed in 11-yr-old drug case

A special court for the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has acquitted a 56year-old woman from Pydhonie, booked in May 2014 for possession of 30 grams of heroin, observing that the police documents were exact replicas of each other, created through a copy-paste job.

According to the prosecution, on May 9, 2014, Jayashree Ade, a police officer attached to the Anti-Narcotic Cell, received information that a woman named Pushpa Pujari would be near Manohar Hotel, P D'Mello Road, selling heroin between 2pm and 2.30pm. Based on this information, a trap was arranged at 1.45pm, and around 2.10pm, a woman arrived at the spot.
