Stalin's Bison Kaalamaadan praise draws Palani' ire
The Free Press Journal - Indore
|October 27, 2025
Opposition leader and general secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, publicly criticised the Chief Minister M. K. Stalin for lauding the film Bison Kaalamaadan, asserting that the chief minister's focus appears misplaced.
Palaniswami accused Stalin of “holding the hands of the cine team” instead of those of farmers harvesting paddy.
Palaniswami made the remarks following a social media post by Stalin in which the film, directed by Mari Selvaraj and starring Dhruv Vikram, was described as another gem in the director’s crown. The praise triggered Palaniswamis charge that the ruling party is distancing itself from agricultural concerns while celebrating cinematic achievements.
