LOGISTICS NIGHTMARE | CM says fundamental principles violated
Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to direct the Union government to amend the Right to Education Act, 2009 and the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993 in order to safeguard teachers appointed before 23 August 2010 from the burden of a newly enforced qualification.
The plea comes after the Supreme Court ruled that all in-service teachers in non-minority elementary schools must pass the Teacher Eligibility Test within two years to continue service or qualify for promotion.
