ED raids CPM-led co-op bank

The Enforcement Directorate has launched an investigation into a significant financial irregularity at the Nemom Service Cooperative Bank in Kerala, where losses amounting to nearly Rs 100 crore have been uncovered.
The investigation is focused on allegations of fraudulent activity by senior members of the bank’s governing body, particularly those associated with the CPM.
The raid is expected to reveal further details about the scope of the fraud, which was initially flagged when discrepancies of Rs 96 crore were discovered.Around 1200 depositors, who entrusted the bank with Rs 112 crore, have been impacted by the scandal.
