Could the new US Gold Card program be the fast track to residency?

The US immigration landscape just shifted. As of December 10, 2025, the Trump Administration officially opened applications for the US Gold Card-a new, high-cost, high-speed alternative to the traditional Green Card. Pitched as a way to "retain the best talent" and attract global wealth, this program effectively allows individuals and corporations to bypass the complexities of the EB-5 visa by writing a check directly to the US Treasury.

Here is everything you need to know about the Gold Card update.

What is the US Gold Card?

The Gold Card is a new residency-by-investment program created via Executive Order in September 2025 and launched this month.

Goal: To replace the "bureaucratic nightmare" of the EB-5 visa (which requires investors to create 10 US jobs) with a straightforward financial contribution model.

Status: It gives you Lawful Permanent Residency (just like a Green Card) but is branded as "stronger" and "faster" by the administration.

Difference: Unlike the Green Card, which is often tied to employment or family, the Gold Card is tied to capital.
