SBI Q2 PAT rises 10 % to ₹20,160 cr, raises FY26 credit growth target

The county’s largest lender, State Bank of India (SBI), on Tuesday reported a 9.97% (y/y) rise in its standalone net profit at Rs 20,160 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2025 as against Rs 18,331 crore posted in the July-September quarter, a year ago.

The proceeds from its stake sale in Yes Bank has also supported its profitability. Operating profit for Q2FY26 rose by 8.91% to Rs 31,904 crore. The ROA and ROE for HIFY26 stood at 1.15% and 20.21%, respectively.

Net interest income for Q2FY26 increased by 3.28%, from Rs 41, 620 crore to Rs 42, 984 crore. Whole bank and domestic net interest margin for the half year stood at 2.93% and 3.05% respectively. The bank reported a whole bank NIM of 2.97% for Q2FY26 and domestic NIM of 3.09%.
