AP Launches "Shining Stars Award" to Recognize Top Student Achievers Across Schools and Junior Colleges

In a landmark move to promote academic excellence and incentivize merit among school and intermediate students, the Andhra Pradesh government has unveiled the "Shining Stars Award", a fresh initiative aimed at celebrating top-performing students across the state.

The new scheme, formalized through G.O. Ms. No. 25 by the School Education Department on Friday, replaces earlier frameworks issued in 2017 and 2023.

Under the newly issued guidelines, the state will felicitate meritorious students who score exceptionally well in the SSC Public Examinations and Intermediate Public Examinations. Each awardee will receive a cash prize of Rs.20,000, a medal, and a certificate of appreciation during a district-level felicitation event chaired by the respective District In-charge Minister.

The program, designed to encourage academic performance irrespective of socio-economic background, will be rolled out annually and will cover both government and private institutions.
