During a Rajya Sabha debate on Operation Sindoor on Wednesday, Samajwadi Party MP and veteran actor Jaya Bachchan questioned the choice of the operation's name, asking why it was called "Sindoor" when the Pahalgam terror attack had "destroyed the sindoor" of so many women.
While expressing condolences to the families of those killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, she also criticised what she called the government's "intelligence failure" in preventing the attack.
