UP DGP denies caste-based encounter allegations

After the opposition Samajwadi Party and the Congress questioned the Uttar Pradesh Police alleging that the they had violated the law during the encounter of Mahesh Yadav in Sultanpur, the UP Police responded saying the Police was doing its job impartially.

Director General of Police Prashant Kumar said, "The police does not do such things, and when bullets are fired, our officers have presented all such things. I deny all such things. The police are taking action completely impartially." Earlier on Monday. attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party and Samajwadi Party over the recent encounter of Mangesh Yadav, in Sultanpur, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati warned the people to be "cautious of the drama" of the BJP and SP and said that "no fake encounters" took place during BSP rule in Uttar Pradesh.
