At the onset of the Mahabharata war, Arjun asked Krishna to bring his chariot between the two armies so he could see his adversaries.
Before him stood an array of relatives, friends and elders from whom he learned everything, including archery skills that he now intended to use upon them.
On his chariot, Krishna sat holding the reins of the five horses that symbolised the five senses, making sure they didn't waver.
'O Krishna, seeing my kinsmen standing with a desire to fight, my limbs fail and my mouth becomes dry. My body quivers, and my hairs stand on end. The bow slips from my hand, and my skin intensely burns,' Arjun wailed as he stood despondent.
