Twisha Sharma case: Husband reaches Jabalpur court to surrender

Samarth Singh, husband of Twisha Sharma, who was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal on May 12, reached the Jabalpur court on Friday to surrender in the case.

According to his advocate, Saurabh Sunder, Samarth Singh arrived at the Jabalpur court and an application was being moved before the Chief Judicial Magistrate.

However, advocate Anurag Srivastava, representing the victim's side, said the accused should have surrendered either before the trial court or the investigating officer in Bhopal.

“The trial court is in Bhopal and the investigating officer is also in Bhopal. If he wants to surrender, he should do it before the trial court or the investigating officer,” Srivastava said.

The development came hours after the Madhya Pradesh High Court issued notice on petitions filed by the State government and Twisha Sharma’s father challenging the anticipatory bail granted by a lower court to Giribala Singh, Twisha’s mother-in-law.
