The allegations are that multiple doctors associated with the Al-Falah University and its hospital campus have been detained or arrested; that one of them used low-rent accommodations to store explosives; and that a woman doctor is accused of trying to seed a women's wing of JeM. Roles and charges are still being assembled.

THE RED FORT CAR BLAST: A FORENSIC LOOK AT THE PLOT

Delhi has been placed on high alert, coming just hours after Jammu & Kashmir Police reported seizing nearly 3,000 kg of explosives in Faridabad.

A Hyundai i20 that rolled through Delhi for hours on Monday ended its journey in a fireball near the Red Fort, killing and injuring scores and thrusting the capital into a full-scale counter-terror response. Investigators now say the blast bears the hallmarks of a planned fidayeen-style attack, and they have moved quickly to map a support network that-if early leads hold-stretches across at least three states and includes medical professionals tied to an institution in Faridabad. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has formally taken over the case amid heightened security in the National Capital Region, a national media agency said.

What follows is a reconstruction of what is publicly known-and not yet known-about the attack and its suspected ecosystem, based on police briefings.

CCTV and traffic-analytics work have become the backbone of the early probe. One data point stands out: the i20's circuitous path. A national media agency's reconstruction says the vehicle crossed the Badarpur border around 8:00 a.m. and remained on the road for hours before the evening blast near the Red Fort. That pattern-an early-morning entry, long dwell across the city, and a late-day detonation near a symbolic site and a busy Metro gate-suggests deliberate route-burning to complicate surveillance and to choose timing that maximizes bystander density at signal points.
