According to Hindu mythology, the third day after the new moon in the month of Shravana marks the day when Goddess Parvati visited her husband Lord Shiva's home and reunited with him.
This day is celebrated as Teej across India, especially in Rajasthan, where it is one of the most colorful and widely celebrated festivals. Teej symbolizes the vibrant spirit of the monsoon season and showcases Rajasthan's rich cultural heritage through joyous festivities.
Teej is primarily a women's festival, dedicated to Goddess Gauri (Parvati), and celebrates her eternal love and union with Lord Shiva. It is a day when women pray for marital bliss, long life, and happiness for their husbands. The festival resonates with the theme of love and devotion, reflecting the deep emotional and spiritual bond shared by the divine couple.
