Riots conspiracy accused, Meeran Haider withdraws bail plea from Delhi HC

Delhi riots larger conspiracy case accused under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Meeran Haider on Friday withdrew his bail appeal from Delhi High Court in order to approach the trial court.

Division Bench of Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Girish Kathpaliya allowed the request to withdraw the appeal and dismissed it as withdrawn.
The same was listed on October 7 for hearing along with other appeals.
Advocate Shri Singh appeared for Meeran Haider and submitted that he seeks to withdraw the appeal to approach the trial court as the police investigation is completed.
Haider’s plea was dismissed by the trial court in 2022, and his appeal was pending before the High Court. On May 20, 2022, Delhi High Court issued notice to Delhi Police in the bail plea of Meeran Haider.
