Kuki-Zo protestors accused the CRPF of conspiring with the Manipur police, armed Meitei groups

A massive demonstration was staged in Kangpokpi as Kuki-Zo protestors filled the streets of Gamgiphai, venting out their anguish over the death of the 10 armed men in Jiribam. Thousands gathered under the banner of the Committee on Tribal Unity (COTU) and demanded an end to what they alleged was targeted violence against their community.

Protestors accused the CRPF of conspiring with the Manipur police, armed Meitei groups, pointing to a series of brutal incidents as evidence of a coordinated campaign. The protestors are now demanding a thorough investigation into the role of the CRPF in these incidents and the protest. Organized by the COTU Sadar Hills, protests saw chanting slogans such as "CRPF Down Down."
