Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch two major agricultural initiatives— the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana and the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission—from the Pusa campus in New Delhi on 11 October, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan.
Announcing the plans on Thursday, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the Prime Minister would inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for over 1,100 projects worth more than 42,000 crore across the agriculture infrastructure, animal husbandry, fisheries, and food-processing sectors. The move is expected to usher in a new era of prosperity for millions of farmers ahead of Diwali.
