It is said that no major work or auspicious event in Jaipur starts without seeking blessings from Nahar Ke Ganesh Ji. This tradition is deeply embedded in the cultural and spiritual life of the people.

Nahar Ke Ganesha is a popular temple located at the foot of Nahargarh hill in Jaipur, Rajasthan, which is famous by this name because it is near a canal. It is about 250 years old and has an idol of Ganesha facing south and with a right trunk. There is a belief of making an inverted swastika in the temple, which brings success in work, and devotees dress the Lord in heavy royal attire.

MAIN FEATURES OF THE TEMPLE

Dakshinmukhi Ganesha: Here is the idol of Lord Ganesha facing south and with a right trunk, which is installed according to Tantra-Vidhan.

REVERSE SWASTIKA: Devotees follow the tradition of making an inverted swastika in the temple. It is believed that this completes the spoiled work.

ROYAL ATTIRE: Lord Ganesha is dressed in a traditional royal attire weighing 20 kg, adorned with gems and gota-patti, which is made by special artisans.
