MCD Invites Tenders for Waste-to-Energy Plant at Ghazipur Dump Site

The selected firm will be expected to develop the facility in strict compliance with the waste management rules, as amended from time to time.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has invited tenders for setting up a Waste-to-Energy facility at the Ghazipur dumpsite, one of the three major landfills in the national capital.
In a push towards scientific waste processing and clean energy generation, the civic body's project is to be implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis.
According to the Notice Inviting Tenders (NIT) dated July 9, the initiative is aligned with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, and seeks the participation of private developers through a transparent, tariff-based competitive bidding process.
