Mamata Inaugurates Jagannath Temple Replica in Bengal's Digha

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday inaugurated the magnificent Jagannath Dham Temple in the tourist town of Digha—a stunning replica of the iconic Jagannath Temple in Puri—against the backdrop of recent anti-Hindu riots in Murshidabad.
In a surprise move, former Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh, accompanied by his newly-wedded wife, visited the temple at the invitation of the Chief Minister. His presence sparked criticism from fellow BJP leaders.
The Rs 250-crore temple project, envisioned by Banerjee in 2018 and built over 20 acres, was personally overseen by her. She visited the site twice in the lead-up to the inauguration, with her entire bureaucratic team relocating to Digha for 48 hours prior to the event.
