JMM-led alliance to get strong mandate, says Congress

As 38 Assembly seats in Jharkhand will go to the polls in the second and final phase of the election on Wednesday, Congress leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir, the party's in-charge for the state, expressed confidence in the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-lead alliance's victory.

Mir said that in the first phase of the election, the percentage of women voters was higher than that of men. He added that since the incumbent JMM-lead alliance government had launched several schemes for women, the higher turnout of women voters would help the alliance retain power in the state.
