I-PAC raid row: SC to hear ED plea against Mamata Banerjee

The Supreme Court will hear on Thursday a key plea filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), alleging obstruction during its raid at the Kolkata office of political consultancy firm I-PAC.
The matter will be heard by a Bench of Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice Vipul Pancholi.
The ED has sought registration of an FIR against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and state police officials. It has also sought a CBI probe, alleging interference, destruction of evidence and intimidation of its officers during the raid.
On Wednesday, the Calcutta High Court disposed of a petition filed by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) seeking protection of its confidential political data, which it claimed had been seized by the ED.
