HARYANA TO HIKE OLD AGE PENSIONS IN STATE TO RS 3,000 PER MONTH

Old age pension in Haryana is no less than a political issue. The BJP in its election manifesto had promised a pension of Rs 3,100 within five years, which is nearing completion.

BJP's ally had announced a monthly pension of Rs 5,000 but then did not contest the elections in alliance with the BJP. The Haryana government can give the benefit of enhanced pensions to the elderly in the state at any time. At present, a monthly old age pension of Rs 2,750 is being given in the state, which will be increased to Rs 3,000 per month.
