HARYANA APPOINTS SHATRUJEET KAPOOR AS NEW DGP

Shatrujit Kapoor has become the new DGP of Haryana. Kapoor is a 1990 batch IPS. He will replace PK Agarwal, who retired on 15 August.

Apart from Kapoor, who ultimately secured the post, RC Mishra and Mohd Aqeel were in the race for the post of DGP. The government has issued orders in this regard and Kapoor will remain in this post for 2 years. On Tuesday, there was churning for about three hours in the CMO regarding the selection between RC Mishra and Shatrujeet Kapoor. In this maelstrom, the youngest IPS officer in the panel, Kapoor, seemed the clear contender for the post.

On Wednesday, newlyappointed DGP Kapoor received a Guard of Honour from police personnel at the Police Headquarters. Senior police officers including ADGPs Alok Kumar Roy, OP Singh, AS Chawla, Ajay Singhal, Mamta Singh, with IGP Amitabh Singh Dhillon, IG Sanjay Singh, Saurav Singh, DIG Naazneen Bhasin, AIG Kamaldeep Goyal, SP Samiti Chaudhary and IPS Pankaj Nain were present and congratulated the DGP.
