Formation of tribunal will save expenses as National Sports Board to bring transparency

The Lok Sabha has passed the National Sports Governance Bill and Anti-Doping Bill to solve such problems related to the sports world, to make it more transparent, to fix the accountability of sports associations and to set guidelines for sports organizations while respecting the Olympic Charter. Efforts were being made to bring this bill for the last 50 years but every time it was obstructed due to political reasons.

The National Sports Code was made in 2011, which was also tried to be converted into a bill but all those attempts failed, and the number of cases coming under it increased even more. Among the pending cases related to sports in the court today, most are about violations of this sports code. Ever since India has been trying to claim the 2036 Olympics, the need to bring this bill was felt so that any possibility of a question mark on this claim can be eliminated.

FORMATION OF NATIONAL SPORTS BOARD To strengthen this claim, the government is engaged in making the sports structure transparent. The first big step under this is the formation of a new National Sports Board, which will determine the accountability of all players. If not satisfied with the accountability, this board can stop the funding of any federation. Obviously, this will curb the arbitrariness of the concerned federations and the players will be able to get the maximum benefit from that fund.

This board will also have the right to recognize and cancel the recognition of any organization. The board will try to get India's participation in all 33 Olympic sports. Although this is a very complicated task, it will remain active on a war footing to bring the chaotic system back on track in 11 years. Also, transparency and accountability will be brought in the decision-making process of all sports associations. Special attention will be given to children aged 12 to 13 years because these children will participate in the Olympics after 11 years.
