DELHI RIOTS UAPA CASE: HIGH COURT ISSUES NOTICE TO DELHI POLICE ON UMAR KHALID'S BAIL PLEA

The Delhi High Court in the case Umar Khalid v. State observed and has issued notice on the bail petition filed by Umar Khalid in connection with the Delhi riots larger conspiracy case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The Division bench comprising of Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Justice Girish Kathpalia in the case sought response of the Delhi Police.
The court also listed the bail petitions filed by co accused persons on the next date of hearing.
The accused persons in the case are Sharjeel Imam, Meeran Haider, Khalid Saifi, Gulfisha Fatima, Mohd Saleem Khan, Shifa Ur Rehman, Shadab Ahmed and Athar Khan.
The bench also comprises of Delhi Police’s challenge against the bail which is granted to co accused Ishrat Jahan.
