The Daily Guardian
|January 15, 2026
Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh on Tuesday launched the Delhi Model for Healthy Liver at the 16th Foundation Day celebrations of the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), positioning the capital as the first state to adopt a structured, system-wide public health response to fatty liver disease.
The foundation day programme, held at the ILBS campus, was attended by senior government officials, academic leaders, clinicians, students and staff. The launch of the Delhi Model formed the centrepiece of the celebrations, alongside the unveiling of several patient-focused and system-strengthening initiatives, reflecting ILBS's evolution over sixteen years as a national and global leader in liver care, research, education and public health.
Addressing the gathering, Singh said ILBS had consistently set new benchmarks in clinical excellence, research and public engagement. He assured the institute of full support from the Government of Delhi and publicly affirmed that all requirements outlined by SK Sarin, Director-cum-Chancellor of ILBS, during his annual report address would be facilitated.
