Delhi court acquits three in 2017 attempt-to-murder case

The Karkardooma District Court on Friday acquitted three individuals, Faeem Kureshi, Naeem Kureshi, and Hanif Khan, in a 2017 attempt-to-murder case, after raising doubts about key evidence presented by the prosecution.

The case revolved around an alleged assault on Aslam, the complainant, on October 18, 2017, during which Faeem reportedly shot at Aslam. However, discrepancies in witness statements and forensic evidence led the court to question the validity of the prosecution's case.
Additional Sessions Judge Atul Ahlawat scrutinized the motive and reliability of the evidence, observing that the motive, based on Aslam's testimony, could be "a double-edged sword" that could also serve to falsely implicate the accused.
